Standard Bank Knock Out enters the quarterfinals this weekend with some exciting fixtures in Lilongwe, Balaka and Nchalo.
Civo host Bullets FC at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday while Super League champions Silver Strikers travel to Kalulu to play Blantyre United.
On Sunday Kamuzu Barracks will play Moyale at Civo while Red Lions play defending champions Mighty Wanderers in Balaka.
Meanwhile, the bank yesterday fulfilled its promise to kit out the eight quarterfinalists.
The bank presented each team with a set of Adidas uniform at a ceremony held at the bank’s headquarters in Lilongwe.
Speaking during the ceremony, Standard Bank official Madalitso Jonazi said the donation was part of the bank’s tradition since they started sponsoring the tournament in 2007.
“For the past seven years we have always been dressing the top eight teams in the competition. This is aimed at making the tournament exiting and colourful.
“We commend Fam for a good job done so far and we hope we will have a violence free competition. Otherwise soccer fans should expect lots of excitement and enjoy the knockout experience,” said Jonazi.
Fam executive committee member James Mwenda thanked Standard Bank for its continued support in developing football in the country.
“They have been with us for quite while and have always fulfilled their pledges just like today. We promise to organise a very successful and entertaining competition,” said Mwenda.
