Boko Haram said it would release only 30 of the 219 girls still in captivity 150 days after their abduction in April this year, Nigeria’s The Nation newspaper reported.
The group sent the list to minister and key negotiator, Shehu Sani, following secret talks between a Boko Haram representative and a government delegation.
“Some top officials met with Umar about two weeks ago in Kuje Prison to discuss issues connected to the fate of the Chibok girls,” said a source close to The Nation.
“We heard some inmates sharing this information that the sect might swap the girls with Umar and others. But all the details are still secret because Umar keeps to himself a lot.”
The government has insisted that it’ll only release the 18 commanders on the condition that ALL 219 girls are freed.
