Chiukepo ruled out

Malawi will miss the services of striker Chiukepo Msowoya who is still recovering from a knock that kept him away from the international friendly against Rwanda international friendly.
Coach Tom Saintfiet has since replaced the former Orlando Pirates and APR FC man with Kamuzu Barracks utility player Harvey Nkacha route to Nigeria.
The coach has release a 23-man squad for the crucial qualifier against Nigeria on September 7 in Calabar but he has stood by his decision to sideline captain Joseph Kamwendo.
The absence of the captain has caused an uproar, but Saintfiet has insisted that Kamwendo did not fit in his tactics hence the decision to drop him from the squad.
But former captain of the team, Peter Mponda, argued that Kamwendo was dropped because of his criticism over the coach’s US$10,000 bonus.
“The way I look at it is that the captain has been dropped because of his plain-spoken attitude since authorities don’t like being told the truth,” Mponda said.
The Flames fly to Botswana on Saturday where they will play a training match against Zebras on September 3.
“The Malawi Team delegation will be accommodated at Travel Lodge Hotel in Gaborone. The team is expected to fly out of Gaborone on 4th September 2013. There will be no local camping but the team will train together in Gaborone on Sunday 1st September 2013,” Fam General Secretary Suzgo Nyirenda said.
The full squad is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Owen Chaima and Charles Swini
Defenders: James Sangala, Moses Chavula, John Lanjesi, Lucky Malata,
Harry Nyirenda, George Nyirenda, Limbikani Mzava and Foster Namwera
