Flames down 10 places on Fifa rankings

Malawi has plummeted 10 placed down the Coca Cola Fifa rankings for the month of August received today.
Malawi is now on position 118 from 109 and 33 from 30.
The top most ranked team in Southern Africa region is Zambia who are on position 60 in the world and 10th in Africa.
They have displaced South Africa who are now second on position 67 in the world and position 12 in Africa.
Angola third on position 98 in the world and 24 in Africa while Botswana fourth on 101 and 26 in the world and Africa respectively.
The Zebras have after climbed 15 places to replace Mozambique.
The Mambas have dropped six places and are now 108th in the world and 30th in Africa followed by Zimbabwe on position 116 and 32.
Malawi is now seventh in the region due to the team’s poor performance at the regional tournament hosted by Zambia last month.
Malawi lost to Zimbabwe in quarterfinals and Angola in plate section.
Malawi’s next game is against Rwanda in an international friendly on August 14 and against Nigeria in Calabar on September 7.
Ivory Coast has dropped five places but they are still the best team in Africa.
They are followed by Ghana, Mali, Algeria and Nigeria.
Spain are still number one team in the world. Germany is second while Colombia is third.
Argentina and Netherlands are on position four and five.
Italy is sixth, Portugal, Croatia, Brazil and Belgium complete the top ten in that order.
