KB survive on top

Kamuzu Barracks have suffered their first home defeat this season but still survived as leaders in the top flight TNM Super League.
Mafco beat KB 4-2 at Dedza on Saturday and have since moved to position 10 following their victory over the fellow soldiers.
Mafco scored their goals through Hassan Chapola, Callista Kalinda, Zasher Mnong’oneza and Welani Nyirenda.
KB top goal scorer striker Harvey Nkacha and twin striker Manase Chiyesa scored the leaders’ two goals.
However, other top position contenders failed to take advantage to the leaders’ loss to dislodge them from the top.
Red Lions who are now on position two only managed a point from their two away games.
They drew 2-2 with Mponela United and lost 3-0 to Silver Strikers and now they have 29 points.
Blue Eagles also blew their chance of going top after giving away 1-0 lead to Epac FC in added time.
Third placed Mighty Wanderers also had a chance of rising to the top. But the Nomads were also held by Azam Tigers at Kalulu Stadium in Nchalo.
