LeBron’s 43 rolls over the Cavaliers

Miami Heat player scores 25 in the first quarter in a 100-63 win and now has a 13-1 record against his old team.

LeBron James chalked up 43 points to inspire the Miami Heat’s 100-63 victory over his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

With sidekick Dwyane Wade taking the night off, James scored 25 points in the first quarter. For the game, he converted 14-of-19 shots from the field, including six-of-eight from thee-point range. James, who played seven years with the Cavaliers, now has a 13-1 record against his old team since he left in 2010 for the Heat (46-19).

Elsewhere, Jeff Teague scored 34 points and forward Paul Millsap had his first career triple-double as the Atlanta Hawks edged past the Toronto Raptors 118-113 in overtime.

Led by backcourt mates Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, the Golden State Warriors rode a barrage of third-quarter 3-pointers to a 103-89 victory over the Orlando Magic.

Wesley Matthews scored 26 points, including a three-pointer that put the Portland Trail Blazers ahead for good in an overtime 120-115 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

DeMarcus Cousins and forward Rudy Gay combined to score all but four of Sacramento’s 17 points in overtime, and the Kings stalled the Washington Wizards’ climb up the Eastern Conference standings with a 117-111 win.
