- Likely to have been Kobe Bryant’s last professional appearance in Canada
Recently crowned Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton continued to enjoy his third title victory as he watched the Toronto Raptors take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night.
The English driver sat courtside for the NBA encounter as the Raptors snapped a three-game skid with a 102-93 win over the Lakers.
In what was almost certainly his last NBA appearance in Canada, retiring basketball great, Kobe Bryant, shot 8 of 16 for 21 points as the Raptors swept the season series from the Lakers for the first time.

Hamilton watched on as Bryant’s every touch drew chants almost throughout, and his only successful 3-pointer was met with thunderous applause in the fourth quarter as the Lakers attempted to mount a rally.
Bryant exited for the final time with 24.6 seconds remaining to a standing ovation.
Kyle Lowry scored 27 points, Terrence Ross added 22 and Bismack Biyombo had a career-high 15 points and 13 rebounds to inflict the Lakers’s eighth defeat in eleven games.
The three time World Champion will have been pleased with the result, having worn a Raptors jersey and posed for pictures with the teams’s mascot, the appropriately named ‘Raptor’.
Speaking on Bryant after the game, Hamilton told Sportsnet: “What he has achieved in his career is absolutely phenomenal. I’m from London, but I’m a huge fan of the NBA, so I’ve been watching it for a long, long time. To watch his career success and to watch him in his final year is a real privilege’.

Hamilton took to Instagram to document his arrival in Toronto yesterday, standing on the wing of his signature, £20m, blood-red private jet.
He made further use of his social media following to express his love for his dog Roscoe, who has his own Instagram account, posting this mock up GQ cover.
The driver has come in for criticism recently over his behaviour in the wake of his victory, having received a warning from Mercedes for hisoff-track behaviour.
Although Hamilton is in no imminent danger of the sack, having won two successive titles for the team, he could be vulnerable if his form dips at the start of next season and he is still filling social media within regular updates about his partying.
