Lions consolidate lead on TNM Super League log table

Zomba based soldiers Red Lions have consolidated their lead at the top of the TNM Super League log table after a convincing 3-0 win over Civo United on Sunday at Civo Stadium.
The soldiers now have 24 points from 11 games with seven wins, three draws and one loss.
The soldiers did well to recover from their first loss this season to Mighty Wanderers last week and punished the civil servants at their own backyard.
The usual suspects; Boniface Kaulesi, Kumbukani Mwambene and Dixon Mbetewa Jnr were on target for the soldiers.
The win made them go two points clear at the top followed closely by fellow Malawi Defence Force side Kamuzu Barracks who beat Moyale 2-1 at Dedza.
Kamuzu Barracks hero was Diof Simaone who netted a brace to give the army headquarters side maximum points.
Mzuzu based Moyale scored through striker Gastin Simkonda.
Blue Eagles are still third after they failed to leapfrog Kamuzu Barracks as they were held to a goalless draw by Mponela.
Azam Tigers, who eat Blantyre United 2-1 at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday, are fourth followed by Mighty Wanderers.
The Nomads beat Silver 1-0 on Saturday to overtake rivals Bullets FC who were held by Mafco.
Mzuzu United are still anchoring the table with five points from 10 games while Mponela United are on position 14 with six points just like 13th placed Evirom who have a better goal difference.
