There is no Premier League representation in the FIFPro team of the year, with all the stars coming from four of Europe’s powerhouses.
While the likes of Luis Suarez, Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany were shunned, European champions Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain provided the players.
The three Ballon d’Or nominees, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Franck Ribery led the way and were joined by some of European footballers most familiar names.
FIFPRO WORLD TEAM OF THE YEAR
Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich)
Dani Alves (Barcelona), Thiago Silva (PSG), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Philipp Lahm (Bayern)
Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), Xavi (Barcelona)
Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Franck Ribery (Bayern)

At the ceremony in Zurich, the fearsome team was displayed on stage with Messi being the last to be placed into the formation.
It is the seventh year running that Messi has been a part of the side, and the sixth for both Ronaldo and pass master Xavi. His Barcelona partner Andres Iniesta is in his fifth FIFPro team.
A notable absentee this time around is Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas, who was named in the side for the past five years but has been replaced in his club side by Diego Lopez since the second half of last season.
