Lupita Nyong’o was thrown into the spotlight when she starred in 12 Years A Slave, going from being an unknown Kenyan actress to an Oscar nominee and Lupita has now spoken out about the fact that she’s still getting used to her new found fame, admitting that she’s been “in a bubble.”
The actress has also already bagged her first major modelling gig with Miu Miu, as well as her amazing acting success, but she still can’t believe that this is all happening to her.
“I’ve been in a bubble. I haven’t been out much. I haven’t gotten used to being recognised,” she told New York magazine. “I was blissfully ignorant of the magnitude of the project I was in or what it was going to mean for the world.”

She also spoke about the paparazzi attention that she’s been getting, saying: “I don’t know who they were waiting for, but they definitely chased me down, which is a startling, disturbing experience.”
Before she then continued: “I did not expect it. I went into flight mode.”
But, Lupita says that despite the lack of privacy, she’s enjoying every moment, telling the publication: “Stressed but blessed 0 I mean, I couldn’t have dreamed this up,” she said, adding: “There are so many highlights that are no longer highlights. I’m living a very swollen life.”
And it seems like the star has already bagged some showbiz fans, with Brad Pitt recently gushing over the actress, reportedly saying that he was planning on making Lupita successful in Hollywood.
“He thinks she’s mesmerising on screen and wants to mentor her,” a source told Grazia magazine.
