Robin van Persie ruled out of Manchester United action for a month

The Dutch striker has been ruled out for a full month with a thigh strain, limiting David Moyes’ options in the all-important Christmas period

In yet another blow for Manchester United’s difficult season, Robin van Persie has been ruled out for a month with a thigh strain.

Manchester United boss David Moyes confirmed the striker will be out until the New Year.

“Robin has picked up a thigh strain and will be out for a month,” said Moyes.

“He took the corner we scored the goal from against Shakhtar and felt his thigh.

“So we’re going to lose Robin, it looks like, for a month, with a thigh strain.”

Robin van Persie has previously been injured this season, missing Man United’s match against Bayer Leverkusen with a toe injury.
