Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has been in Beijing seeking loans and investment as unrest continued on the streets of Kiev for a 14th day.
Yanukovych arrived in the capital of China’s northwestern province of Shaanxi on Tuesday. He discussed trade cooperation with provincial officials before visiting the Terracotta Warriors archeological site.
China’s Foreign Ministry says it hopes for stability in Ukraine. A recent pro-Europe rally of about 350,000 people there is the biggest protest in the capital Kiev in the past decade.
